An overview
Overhaul Finance is the funding arm of Overhaul — the integrated professional services platform built for the UK's commercial road transport industry.
For decades, the market handed operators a box of parts: a broker here, a lender there, a lawyer somewhere else, none of them talking to one another. Nobody designed it. It just accumulated. And things that merely accumulate eventually get overhauled. Hence the name.
We believe integration beats fragmentation as a design principle. When finance, insurance, legal and compliance are built to work together, the person structuring your funding understands the whole picture into which the capital must fit. The pieces fit because they were made to fit.
Haulage is asset-heavy, thin-margined and closely regulated, and generalist lenders look at it and see only risk. We see something else entirely: one of the most important industries in the country, at the most important moment in its history.
This is because the opportunity in front of UK road transport is enormous. The sector is consolidating — and consolidation is a financing event. Acquisitions need funding. Fleets need refinancing. Both need arrangements made by people who understand the numbers and the regulation that follows them.
Beyond consolidation lies the biggest re-equipment cycle the industry has ever faced: the move from diesel to battery-electric and hydrogen. These are the vehicles that will carry the next fifty years of British trade — and traditional funders cannot yet value them, so they will not fund them. Every great transition begins this way. The railways. Electrification. The future always looks unfundable to people standing outside it. We stand inside it.
